It started out like any other day.  The human was still sleeping and Gizzmo was in the litter box.  I had eaten and was ready to go!   I always start my day by doing my leg stretches -- you know, just in case a spider or ghost should appear!

  I was stretching as usual when I saw him!  He was the biggest, meanest looking spider I had ever seen!  Not even my class had prepared me for this moment!  I'll bet this fellow would have even scared  Charlie!

Well, needless to say this guy was going to have to be approached very carefully!   I stared at him, trying to hypnotize him if possible.  But he was a crafty fellow.  He moved to the right.......

  I followed him and then quickly, without warning --- I pounced!   I hit him (Whack!)  I bit him (Crunch!) and then before I knew what had happened he hit back!

  Jeez that hurt!!  But I was undaunted.   I got up quickly and pursued him as he tried to escape into the human's bedroom!

  He moved rapidly into the human's computer room with me in hot pursuit.   He ran up my favorite chair!  Now that kind of made me mad!  Stupid spider!  I climbed to the top of the chair determined to grab him quickly.

  He tried to duck into the folds of the chair.  I reached in to root him out

  And then, without warning, he gave a great lunge and tore himself out of my grasp!  I didn't expect it and all I could do is watch in shock as he leaped into the air and out of my reach. 

  I watched helplessly as he scurried under the wall molding!  I was shattered!  I had failed!  What would everyone think!  Who the heck would believe me!!  About that time, Gizzmo came strolling by and gave me one of her dopey looks.  Pretty soon here comes the  human.  She says:  

Little does she know!   Guess I'd better take another look at my spider class lessons.  Now, what chapter did he cover "grabbing the spider"???..........
